Subject: Nonstop

It was a really, really cool week, a ton happened it was so crazy. I still cant believe it was just a little over a week ago when I got hit by a motorcycle haha, but I'm completely fine now. The day after (Sunday) was awesome, had a bunch of friends come to watch conference with us. And then that night the Catholics were shooting off fireworks maybe for Easter or something and a part of one of the fireworks just came hurling down from the sky and landed a few feet from me. We thought that was pretty funny just considered my luck recently. The next day (monday) was very unexpected when President told me I would have a some assignments in leading the district and training a new elder, which I thought was a little bit much to take on at the time but its fine. Then that same night (last monday) I lost my freaking wallet with all of my cash and cards and a bunch of other important stuff 🤣.

My old comp Elder Villamar said goodbye to all the members and everyone and left Thursday. I'm gonna miss that guy he was a real goober but we had a fun time. I then got my new comp who just came in from the Perú MTC, his names Elder Raxá, he's from Guatemala and he's been doing really good for just a few days on the mission. I've now had a comp from Perú, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Ecuador, and then Guatemala for a second time... so the no-gringo streak rolls on haha.

This week we invited almost all of our friends in teaching to get baptized, or at least prepare to get baptized, and we had some pretty powerful lessons. Our friend Cristian accepted a baptismal date this week, he's the brother of the 2 girls (Karen and Maryorie) that got baptized 2 sundays ago, so that was really cool. We set up a date for our friend Lisandro to get baptized when he turns 18 which is coming up this next month in May. A bunch of our other friends said that they're willing to prepare to get baptized so we should hopefully be setting some dates with them this week.

We also had some cool experiences with priesthood blessings this week. I think it was probably my comp Elder Raxá's 2nd day on the mission and we were going to visit the family of a recent convert at night and we got to the house. The mom came to the door and she looked pretty distressed and said her whole family was sick and struggling, so we asked if we could give them some priesthood blessings, and we ended up being able to give blessings to her, her husband, and her 2 daughters. Elder Raxá didnt know how to give a blessing but was willing to do it so I wrote out the words for him and he was able to give the 1st part for all 4 of the blessings which I thought was really cool and it reminded me of when my trainer helped me give a blessing for the first time on the mission in Spanish. It felt good to be able to help that family out and see the faith that they had in the power of the priesthood.
Another cool experience we had with preisthood blessings happened just last night (Sunday) when we find out that 2 sisters in our district were sick, so we went with another companionship of elders in the district to give them blessings and it felt good to be able to help them in their time of need. I've learned that all we do in the gospel is about helping others come unto Christ, and as we do so we also come unto Him and become more like Him.

Sorry this got crazy long and theres still a bunch to write about but hope everyones doing awesome and have a great week! Let me know how youre all doing

-Elder Trujillo
