3 Areas in 3 weeks 🀣 πŸŽ„πŸ“–

Monday December 29, 2025 Subject: 3 Areas in 3 weeks 🀣 πŸŽ„πŸ“– Man this week was nuts. I had had a whole 3 weeks in my new area Texical, then Friday we had interviews with mission president and the very next day he called us early in the morning and told us we were getting transferred. And Sunday at noon I moved to my new area. My new comp Elder Villamar is from Ecuador and is still new to the mission and in his training, so I'm gonna be his trainer but just for the next 3 weeks haha. We've only worked together for one day so far but he's a hard worker and willing to learn so I'm super excited to see what we can get done. I've now had 4 latino companions in a row haha, I went from a Peruvian to a Dominican to a Guatemalan and now to an Ecuadorian. It's definitely helped my Spanish a ton to only have latino comps and its been cool to live with people from all over. I've also now had 3 straight areas all in the same zone which is super crazy and like unheard of,...

Navidad en Nahuizalco

Image
December 22, 2025 Subject: Navidad en Nahuizalco Buenossss dias everybody Theres only like 3 days till christmas supposedly but theres no snow on the ground and its still like 80 degrees, it feels super weird haha. My comp Elder Cortez is heading home in less than 2 weeks and I've only been with him for 2 weeks, so thats gonna be sad. I feel like I know the area pretty good now and we're building momentum each week that passes, so I'm excited to get to work this week. We've talked with a bunch of people the last little bit, so I feel like we've set this week up good to start seeing some more fruits hopefully.  Wednesday this week an hermana in the branch needed some help with yardwork, and we thought it would just be like helping a little with gardening or something but when we showed up to her house there was just a huge pile of like 50 massive rocks, and at that point we were starting to have second thoughts about this "small" service project. But we did...

Hector bautismo!! Another week in Texical, Nahuizalco, El Salvador

Monday December 15, 2025 Subject: Hector bautismo!! Another week in Texical, Nahuizalco, El Salvador Que ondas family and friends It was a pretty awesome week here in Texical, had a super awesome zone conference this week, found a lot of people to start teaching, and topped it off with our friend Hector's baptism this sunday Wednesday this week we went to chop wood for a member in the branch, and I think the wood chopped me more than I chopped it, cuz I left with 6 nasty nasty blisters haha. That made the next couple days pretty sucky from a physical standpoint cuz I could barely touch anything without feeling like my fingers were getting burnt off, but theyre starting to heal so thats good. I thought the water in my last house was cold, but looking back it was nothing. But now the waters so freaking cold it feels like it comes straight from a freaking glacier. And I have to like convince myself to get in the shower every morning its so cold bro. Had some really good scripture stud...

Colby's 2025 Year Recap

Image
Colby's 2025 year recap (requested by mom for our Christmas email 😘) πŸ’™... This year has been nuts, it passed by so quick but also an insane amount of things have happened in the past 12 months. I started off the year halfway through my senior year, and the only things that I cared about at that point was the state of BYU sports and Rams football, the gym, the record of my fantasy football team, my friends, sports, and more sports. We went to Costa Rica with my parents and grandparents to visit Papa's mission, a senior trip to Moab with the boys, visited my dad's mission in California with my dad and Tate, and a Lake Powell trip with my uncle Chris and aunt Chaleh's family. Got my mission call to El Salvador, graduated from high school, got into BYU, and went off to the Mexico MTC for a month. Learned Spanish and got sent off to El Salvador to the city of Juayua and spent 4 and a half months there with a Peruvian and Dominican. Then this December I got transferred to N...

Monday December 8, 2025 Subject: Andamos en Texical, Nahuizalco, El Salvador 🎒 CΓ³mo han estado my family and friends... I got transfer news this past Tuesday that I would be leaving Juayua after spending 4 and a half months in the area and so Tuesday and Wednesday I said my goodbyes and farewells to everybody. It was really sad cuz this is a super awesome ward with a ton of cool members and a lot of memories. Then on Thursday I got sent to my new area Texical 1 in Nahuizalco just 20 minutes away from where I was before haha πŸ˜‚ Its in the same zone just a different district, so I could end up spending almost a whole year straight just in this zone haha. I got my new companion Elder Cortez from Guatemala, so its gonna be another transfer of straight spanish haha. He's super chill I think we're gonna do good together. The 3 comps I've had in the field have all been latinos, first a Peruvian, then a Dominican, and now a Guatemalan. I think I'm forgetting how to speak engli...

Believe that He is

Monday December 1, 2025 Subject: Believe that He is QuΓ© me cuentan whats up cheles We're in december already and supposedly thanksgiving already happened... I think time is fake its such a crazy concept and it moves so fast I've already spent 3 transfers here in El Progreso in Juayua, El Salvador, and its pretty likely my times coming to an end in this area, but we'll see what the transfer news is. Juayua's such a cool place, we get fed everyday by the members, its a pretty massive area, we have sick mountains and jungles, the weathers awesome, and theres some really cool people here. I dont really want to leave but I'm good to go wherever I get sent. This week we found a few new families which was awesome, cuz I feel like lately we had just been finding individual people rather than the whole family. I want to help these people not only come unto Christ but stay close to Him, and I feel like thats a lot easier to do when they have the support of their loved ones as...
