Subject: Locked In

¿QuΓ© pasa con todos???

I'm not sure how good of an email writer I am, but I'll try my best to send weekly ones because my mom wants me to.

I'm 5 days into the Mexico mtc and it's crazy how much can happen in less than a week when you just forget about everything else and put all your effort into one thing. The food's been hit or miss, but everything else has been on point. I have some sweet roommates and the number of times we've just been dying laughing is crazy for only knowing each other a week. Our district is the chillest and I have a sick companion Elder Carman. Singing the hymns in Spanish has been so cool and this language is so fun to learn.

During home mtc, it got to a point I was so bored of the zoom calls and sitting in the same room 8 hours a day that I was watching anything in my free time that wouldn't get me in trouble. Stuff like Best Two Years, the RM, Other Side of Heaven, anything to give me entertainment. Even though I was a missionary, my personal study during home mtc was not good at all and was a struggle. I still had so many distractions and was really just not locked in.

Since getting to mexico city, I've had better scripture studies, better language studies, more consistent sleep, and better focus than I've ever had in my life. And I think the main thing that has made all this happen is eliminating distractions and putting in effort. The "God loves effort" quote from President Nelson has been on my mind a ton this week and I can testify that effort does bring results and you can feel the help of God.

It's the first week out of the house and I'm counting on it getting harder, but it's been good so far.

Hasta luego,
Elder Trujillo

It's the rainy season in Mexico City ☔

Pics I screenshotted from a video of Colby's district bearing their testimonies πŸ₯°πŸ‘...

Colby said he knows the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ (he said it in Spanish 😘).
