Subject: Otra Semana en la Misi贸n 馃憣
Wassuppp everybody... it was a pretty tame week but we're learning a lot so it's good.
We got to go to the Mexico city temple today for p day so that was sweet. It was our second time going, the first time we did initiatories and baptisms, and this week we did sealings and some temple service. Everything's in spanish so that makes it a super cool and different experience. We still been playing a ton of basketball and pickleball, and we also started playing a ton of volleyball this past week and I'm getting pretty good I can't lie.
I've been on the mission for well over a month now and the Wednesday of next week I'll be flying out to El Salvador. I'm super excited and also already know it's gonna be a huge shock and transition for the first month out in the field. This past Sunday me and my comp Elder Carman got to prepare and bless the sacrament in Spanish for our sacrament meeting and that was super cool. I also got to see a few buddies that I knew from home get here this week and I got a pic with Elder Bailey (my boy Zach). I also got to call my aunt Steffannie that speaks Spanish and is from El Salvador to do a practice lesson with her in Spanish and that was super good to see them. It was a super basic week but our Spanish is progressing and we're still grinding.
Before I ended my email I wanted to share this scripture that I read recently in my studies that is super powerful. I've been reading the Book of Mormon in English in my personal studies and then in my companion studies I've been reading it in Spanish with Elder Carman. We were reading in Nephi 17, the chapter about the Lord asking Nephi to build a boat, and when his brothers Laman and Lemuel hear that he's going to try to do this grand thing, and they call him delusional, Nephi replies with this in verses 50 and 51,
"If God had commanded me to do all things I could do them. If he should command me that I should say unto this water, be thou earth, it should be earth; and if I should say it, it would be done.
And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should build a ship?"
God can do all things, all we have to do is trust in him and give him what we have, and he will multiply our efforts.
Hope everyone's doing good and nos vemos...
