Subject: Go watch some puka nacua highlights for me
Buenas everybody,
A lot of the same stuff this week. My spanish is improving poco a poco each day, little by little, paso a paso, step by step. Tuesday we had a zone conference in Ahuachapan that was super inspiring about the importance of baptism and about how people can't have full access to the power of Christs atonement without baptism.
So after this conference we were inspired and so this past week I gave my first baptismal invitation in spanish to our friend Jennifer. I gave the invitation and she started smiling and she nodded her head a little bit, so I totally thought she was going to say yes for about a split second, and then she went into to her, "Estoy agradecido por su invitacion pero..." (I'm grateful for your invitation but...)
So I'm 0/1 on baptismal invitations now, but for that split second that I thought she was going to say yes, it felt like I was on top of the world haha. It reminded me of the Rams vs Eagles in the playoffs last season. The rams are my team and we we're down by less than a touchdown, its snowing hard, its the 4th quarter, 4th and long, our season on the line, and Matthew Stafford throws it deep to my guy Puka Nacua, and Puka makes an insane catch on the sideline to move the chains and keep the drive alive. I thought there was no way we were gonna lose the game now after that miracle of a catch. We're now like 20 yards away from the endzone and winning the game. And then we completely choke and don't move the ball at all for the next 4 downs, lose the game, and our seasons over. And if we had won that game we totally wouldve won the superbowl cuz we wouldve played the bum washington commanders in the next round and then the chiefs in the superbowl who were so fake and ended up getting blown out anyways.
But I'm not bitter at all about that game, not at all... hahaha but anywaya thats just an analogy of how it felt getting rejected when I totally thought she was about to say yes.
Not much else happened, we went up to the mountains almost everyday to teach like usual, been eating pupusas daily and they never get old, we didnt have any water wednesday and that sucked I had to poop in a box. Sunday we went up into the mountains at like 7:30 in the morning in a pickup to gather up all of our investigators that had promised to go to church with us and NOBODY wanted to come haha. They all said they would and then we showed up to their houses and they all came up with the stupidest excuses like my head hurts haha. We did end up having one kid named Carlos come with us and we think he has a lot of potential and we're gonna invite him to be baptized this week.
Hope everyone is doing good and va pue!
