Subject: Working in the Field in Juayua

 ¡Va pue!!!

How's everyone doing? Also va pue is a big thing in El Salvador I've heard it like a thousand times in the past week it's just a thing that everyone says.

I flew in to the San Salvador airport from the Mexico city airport this past wednesday, drove for like 2 hours to the mission home in Santa Ana, had dinner with our mission president and his family and then the next morning I met my companion and we drove for like another hour and a half to my area in Juayua. My comp is Elder Delgado and he's super cool and a great missionary. He's from Perú and only speaks spanish so I've basically only been speaking spanish for like the past 5 days haha. We've taught a ton of people in the past week and I've been able to share my testimony a lot, share little spiritual thoughts, and give the prayers.

Every day at about 5 we go up into the mountains to teach for a few hours. It's super far away so we just wait at the base of the mountain and stick out our hands until a pick up truck stops to give us a ride and then we hop in the back and ride as long as they'll let us stay in the back, but most of the time they can only take us like a third of the way of halfway up the mountain, so we usually have to take multiple rides to get to the top. The families that live in the mountains basically live in the middle of the jungle and it's so crazy. I would say about 90% of the houses that we've visited have had dirt floors which was super surprising to me. We've seen tons of ginormous spiders in the jungle and we've seen hundreds of wild dogs that just roam thw streets.

One of the families we visited in the mountains asked us to give their daughter a blessing because we think she's been possessed by a devil. I gave her the blessing for anointing but it was in spanish so that made it extra hard but also when I put my hands on her head I could immediately feel something off, almost like I could feel the devil inside of her. Usually when I give blessings I feel super happy and can feel the Spirit really strong, but when I gave her the blessing it felt like I could literally feel the devil inside of her it was crazy.

There's a lot of stuff I'm forgetting but we also got to play basketball at the church with all the elders in our district for p day and that was super fun even though they all suck at basketball haha. We just got some groceries and I made sure to get some red cap milk, good cereal, and ice cream cuz I haven't had those in forever haha.

Hope everyones well and send me emails so I can know how you guys are doing

Va pue!
