Subject: El Milagro de La Familia Beltran
CΓ³mo estamos everybody,
If I did my math right tomorrow is my 100th day on the mission, and holy its flown by. Its been nothing like I couldve imagined, but its been absolutely awesome.
The first few days of the week were pretty average nothing special. The finding was getting harder and our references were running dry. I think we've gone 7 of the past 10 days without water in the house, but today we got it back, and it felt like Christmas man. I will never take running water for granted ever again, I've learned my lesson haha.
But these past 2 or 3 days have been awesome. Saturday night we had another lesson with la Familia Beltran, and holy it was powerful. The dad is a member but has been inactive for ten years, and then theres the mom and the 2 daughters who arent members. We were gonna baptize the 2 daughters this past sunday, but we changed it to this next sunday cuz we want them to feel more prepared.
When we started teaching this family about a month and a half ago, the mom literally wanted nothing to do with us and wouldnt even interact with us or listen to the listens. But this past Saturday night, she was testifying to her 2 daughters of our church with conviction and with Spirit. She made the definitive decision that she and her husband would stop working on sundays altogether and would attend church every sunday from now on. They set a goal to get married around the end of october so that the mom can get baptized and the dad can once again be worthy to participate in the priesthood and re-enter the temple. I was literally blown away during this lesson, and the changes I've seen in this family in just the past month are nothing short of a miracle. They've gone to church as a family the past 2 sundays, and its so good to see them there. Man I love this family.
Another miracle this past week happened Sunday with our newfound friend Jaime. We'd never seen this hermano before, but we were just standing outside the church Sunday morning, and this guy walks up to us and into the church and stays for the whole sacrament meeting... super crazy. He's around 75 years old and says he's looking for truth. He knows a little english and wanted to practice with me, and while I was talking with him he says to me in his broken english, "We are going to be friends, I know it."
Super crazy miracle and I hope Jaime can keep progressing with us.
God sees our efforts and wants to bless us and will bless us. I gave another talk this past Sunday, and the bishop only had me and him as the 2 speakers, so I had to take up 15 minutes and somehow I was able to do it haha. The Lord is blessing me and I'm trying my best to be a worthy tool in his hands.
Hope everyones doing great, miss you all
Va pue!!
