Subject: Called to SERVE (also, I think I heard BYU beat Utah πŸ€”)

Buenosss diaaasss

Super crazy week, we had transfers this week and my boy Elder Delgado got sent away, which left me to lead the area. My Peruvian hermano got traded for a Dominican hermano, and so now I'm with the one and only Elder Ortiz.

This week has been crazy different, having to lead in all the planning and lessons and comite misional and just all the other little things I wasnt thinking about before has completely changed my perspective. Just in this past week I've seen my spanish take another leap just because I have to be the one that speaks because my comp is brand new to the area. I've definitely had the help of God this week, because I thought there was no way I would be able to lead the area but its gone really good the past few days.

Tuesday earlier this week when I was still with my old comp Elder Delgado, we got the transfer news and that he was leaving, and my head just started spinning. I was just thinking about how incapable I felt and all the duties I would have to take on and just worried. We were eating lunch with an hermana in the ward and I could barely think I was so anxious, but I had the impression to go wash the dishes for her, something super small that would only take like 5 minutes to do, but I followed the prompting anyways. Immediately as I began cleaning for her, all of my stress just evaporated and I felt the peace "which passeth all understanding". It was insane how immediate the calm came over me, and all my worries instantly went away. So, my invitation for you guys is that if you are stressed, or feeling down, or looking for peace or a fuller joy in your life... then serve somebody.
Service and just the simple change of perspective from thinking about your own problems to thinking others' needs can instantly help you feel better, at least a little bit.

A bunch of stuff happened this week, but one really cool thing was that we set a baptismal date with an hermano named Jose Mendez. We find him in the house of a recent convert family, and in our first lesson with him we set a baptismal date, it was super crazy I've never seen anything like it in my time here so far.

Yesterday I almost lost it with a Catholic hermano haha, but I was able to control myself and keep my cool and remember that everyone is a child of God... but some people got on my nerves man haha.

Hey also I think I heard from some emails that BYU beat Utah this past week so now its been like what... 6+ years since Utah beat BYU?
