Subject: Miracle π️
Bro this week was freaking nuts π€£...
To just start it off with a little highlight of the week, it was Saturday night about 7:30, pretty dark outside, we're on about a 20-30 minute walk to our next visit. We're walking off to the side of the road, I kind of hear a motorcycle or something coming from behind in the distance, I look back for half a second and I see it coming at full speed kind of going crazy starting to veer off to the side of the road, and by the time I had looked back it was too late.
After that moment, the next 10 or so seconds are completely unknown to me. All I remember is looking back, seeing the motocycle coming crazy at full speed, and then my memory just jumps forward to me being stood up like nothing happened and seeing a motorcycle on the ground all messed up a few feet in front of me and the driver on the ground cut up and bleeding. Some people that saw the accident said that they saw me get hit and go flying and end up laying on the ground. The guy driving the motorcyle was drunk and him and his motorcycle were in a lot worse condition than I was. Some people that saw the accident or were just passing by started yelling and getting mad at the guy and said they called the police.
A member in our ward that works for a hospital pulled up with a little ambulance to take me to the hospital, but I told them I felt completely fine and we didnt need to do all that. Our mission president and his wife called us and ended up making me go, and sent me in a uber to the hospital in Santa Ana. They did a bunch of tests and x-rays and injected me with some stuff, but they said I hadnt broken anything and that I was all good to go. We got back to the house that night at 1 in the morning.
The whole story makes no sense. I literally do not remember feeling any pain from the impact or the collision of the accident, I felt no pain at all, at least that I can remember. I was left basically completely unharmed, just a bruise on my leg and some very tiny scratches. I do not know how my leg is not broken right now, or how I am not concussed and havent lost my ability to speak, or how I'm even still alive. It was literally a miracle and there is no other way to explain how it happened. I dont know if I left my body for a few seconds or how in the world I literally got hit by a motorcycle but was completely protected. I've never been more grateful or felt more blessed to be alive than the time since the accident.
Another huge miracle we had this week was this Sunday when our friends Angela, Alcira, Daniela, Mayren, Hazel, Amanda, her little brother Dilan, Alexander, Cristofer, Lisandro, Antonio, Dennis and Kathy all came to church with us. It was the most successful Sunday I've ever had on the mission, at least as far as attendances go. It made me so happy to see so many of our friends coming to Jesus Christ and showing a true repentance by sacrificing some of their weekend to the listen to the prophet and the apostles. General conference was super awesome and I was able to learn a lot and have my questions answered.
We got some more super shocking news today, I dont know how I feel about it haha. President said that he wants me to be district leader as well as training a new elder this transfer. Its gonna be a great learning experience and help me grow a lot, I'm excited to help other missionaries unlock their full potential. But that also means my comp Elder Villamars leaving π after 2 and a half transfers (3 and a half months) our time is finally coming to a close as comps... we had a great time together, I'm gonna miss that ecuatoriano.
Hope everyones doing awesome, let me know whats up and have a great week!
-Elder Trujillo
P.s. I got breaking news saturday night from Nanny that UConn won Illinois and is heading to the national championship... my march madness brackets looking pretty good this year I cant lieπ
